Chronicles / The Summer Solstice Festival of 1376 DR
« Last post by Druie on Today at 01:31:05 PM »
Essembrans and travellers turned out to the grounds of Aencar's Keep to the festival celebrating the summertime and the solstice.

Lord Jarath Burlisk was there with is retinue - living and ghostly - and seeing him hale and healthy as ever put a cheer among the common folk who had seen their previous lord suffer ill health before his murder last year.

Jarath himself gave few speeches - but he did celebrate the loyalty and resilience of the people of Essembra and Battledale, and renewed the call for brave men and women seeking to make something of themselves to pledge into the service of the Mailed Mantle or the Lord's Men.

As for the contests promised by the festival, the results were:

Pie Eating Champion: Grand Mage of Mistletarn, Heliott, who holds his title for the second year running!

Pugilist Extraordinaire: Swordcaptain Birvon 'The Mountain' Bloodhorn of the Lord's Men

Keenest Eyed Archer: the ranger Maurice Greenpocket

Master of the Joust: Dragonguard Aubric Hallemont of Featherdale

'Queen of Summer', bardic favourite: Morressyn of Battledale

This is tomorrow. I'll definitely be running stuff around 7pm British time tomorrow (GMT+1/BST) and will be available variously at other times if there are people about.

Same goes for Sunday!

Start times will be announced in discord also.  8)

Hey,

Lerin will do some strange and unsettling Shamanistic fortune telling! I'm thinking reading the bone runes, doing generally upsetting things with entrails, offering fertility blessings from THE ONE TRUE GOD OF NATURE (tm) and all that jazz.

If there could be a little bit set up in a corner of the area to look all woodsy and rustic and generally totally out of place with the other festivities, that would be awesome. :D

Chronicles / Adderposts Reopens!
« Last post by Druie on June 15, 2019, 05:55:08 PM »
After a long time sitting empty - followed by several would-be entrepreneurs petitioning the lord and then protracted negotiations by those who eventually took the keys - the popular pawn-shop known as Adderposts in Essembra has opened its doors once more, but this time under the banner of the Red Wizards of Thay.

Rumour has it that this Thayan operation is a little more organised than the Flamehaern family who previously owned the shop for several decades. Where Duskar once ran a rickety pawn shop full of costumes and sundries, these wizards seem keen on the spoils of adventure and sharing aspects of their foreign culture. So, too, are these said to trade in magic and fine items - as Enclaves across Faerun are famed.

The small cadre of wizards and staff are now offering mercantile services to the adventuring population of Battledale. Visitors are advised to kindly wipe their feet and step away from any walls or pieces of furniture from which a hissing may emerge (with apologies for any remaining wriggling serpents that may be seen - enterprising adventurers are welcome to help quell the pests via the cellar.)

Vorasaer the Unpredictable will be able to attend. Unless, of course, he doesn't.
( count me in with one of my PC's depending on what lvl we decide on)

Madislak, the surly, hairy man lately seen running errands for the new scarlet-clad owners of Adderposts, has put word out in advance of their (slightly delayed) grand re-opening that some adventurers are being hired to take care of a matter.

Those with a phobia of snakes need not apply.

Who: Up to 6 PCs. Lowbies welcome!

When: Sunday 16th June, 7pm UTC, 8pm BST, 3pm ET

Where: Essembra, Battledale

Please let me know if you would like to attend. Start time is slightly flexible if required - but this will not be a marathon length quest :)

Hurrah! Added Pogo's show to the list of activities.

Once again, I've added some activities on there that could be run by PCs who have the inclination - fortune telling and bardic performances are ideal for enterprising PCs to take up and run (and keep all of the profits thereof  8)) Let me know if you want to participate in any way or have your own ideas :) Happy to bounce ideas with people in Discord.
