Announced Events / Airship Wreckage - A Public Scavenger Hunt
« Last post by Druie on December 23, 2018, 02:41:23 PM »
Folk talk of the badly damaged gnomish airship that recently crash-landed in the Belt of Battledale. Now that the dust has settled and it's been revealed that no Dalesmen were hurt in the crash, the crew have put out an appeal for anyone who finds any debris that may have fallen from their ship in their scramble across the Dales should collect it up and return it to them for a reward!

This is a special week(ish) long event for the holidays - log in whenever you want and wander around the server collecting special Airship Wreckage items hidden (and not so hidden) around the server. You may exchange these later in the week with me (DM Eredruie) for special gifts!

Please note that there is a limit of THREE Airship Wreckage items per PLAYER to allow everyone to get a fair shot at finding these, so if you find three of these on a character please don't collect any more! You will not be rewarded for extras! Can't find three, or want to spread out your collection over several chracters? That's fine! You'll still get a gift if you collect one or two Airship Wreckage items - just remember the limit is three per PLAYER not character.

This scavenger hunt will end at the New Year so get exploring!  8)

Any questions, hit me up in Discord!

edit: To help out your fellow players, you may want to reply to this thread with the names of areas you collected your items in, that way they can go hunting in other areas :)
Chronicles / Crash of the Skyship!
« Last post by Druie on December 23, 2018, 12:04:47 PM »
Not long after the first snows arrive, Dalesfolk wake to a strange humming sound passing over them in the sky and strange lights bouncing off the clouds, and a rain of strange objects falling with great clattering upon roofs, roads, and into streams and forest canopy.

Where the sky is clear and one has the presence of mind to look, a great ship -a gaping hole rent in its side- can be seen careening through the air - bobbing erratically at speed and struggling to stay aloft at first before it lists and begins a long descent toward Battledale's Belt region. Farmsteaders claim it cut a swathe through woodland, cutting off the tops of many trees and causing many to fall, before at last it struck a barn (setting the building alight!) and finally crashed into the side of a small hill - the impact of which formed quite a crater and destroyed a portion of arable land at Hesley Freehold.

Dalelanders are baffled - such craft are exceedingly rare and not often spotted, and for one to come down in such a fashion is truly calamitous for Battledale's farmers. In the meantime, the Lord's Men have advised commonfolk to keep their distance as the dangers of the crash site are yet unknown!

Chronicles / Slave labour revealed in Mistledale - a troupe of Halflings freed!
« Last post by Druie on December 17, 2018, 11:28:05 AM »
Rumour has it that the Guild of Alchemists in Essembra called for some help investigating irregularities in a supply of reagents - it is said that someone had been inscribing 'help us' into several large leaves hidden in the middle of sheafs of produce that found its way into the Guild's storeroom.

Adventurers including the halflings Riggo and Billy, the elf Rethan, Einar the huntsman, and the paladin Orhart answered the call and travelled to Mistledale to investigate.

Gossip travels between dales and towns, but after a visit to Iletian Blackeagle of Black Eagle Coster in Ashabenford, the group paused at the Velvet Veil and then made their way toward the hamlets of Mistlebrook and Mistletarn apparently in search of a kidnapper. What transpired is not generally known, save that it seems a halfling troupe had been kidnapped and put to work in a cellar - their small hands best placed to deal with the fine work of preparing the plant matter for alchemical use. The party slew the ringleader; a man of Voonlar with a Mistran mistress whose very home he had been using for his slave labour, and the traumatised hinfolk were released to freedom and provided with the means to get back on their feet.

The Guild of Alchemists are praised for their wish to investigate the matter, and appear to now be soliciting quotations from other suppliers for some of their reagents. The adventurers receive approving nods and smiles from hinfolk who have yet heard the tale.

Sorry, I didn't respond sooner because I wasn't sure I would still be level 5 or under by then, but it looks like I will be.

Billy (rog3/ftr2) will do his best to be there.   :)
