Announced Events / Summer Solstice Festival
« Last post by Druie on May 24, 2019, 10:20:49 AM »
Essembra is to hold a Summer Solstice festival this year in the gardens of Aencar's Keep!

To include;
  • Pie Eating Contest
  • Jousting
  • Hand-to-Hand duelling
  • Archery
  • Fortune Telling (PC magic-users --and charlatans-- welcome to take this stall)
  • Bardic performances (PC bards most welcome to perform and/or compete together!)
  • Pogo Bunions' Greatest Show Ever!  (new)
  • Merchants from far off lands selling rare goods
  • An address by the War-Chancellor of Battledale, Lord Jarath Burlisk himself!

This will be an open event and for events like this we typically try and cover availability across European and US timezones so that as many people as would like to are able to participate together.

If you have a PC who would like to 'run' something at this event, such as a stall or provide a service then please let me know and we may be able to help you out with things like tents/stalls and props. :)

The Nightborne Court is mentioned again, as adventurers offer warnings to their fellows to beware when delving into places known to harbour undead, particularly in Battledale, as groups once more report discovering strange undead creatures and a small group of werewolves practicing dark magic in Oaknoll's sunken crypt.

What do these dark tidings mean for the Dale?

The ghastly Lord Duncastle has been frequenting Essembra's taverns in recent nights, washing down his dread with something even the living can smell. In his more coherent moments, he speaks of a strange war to come - one that her militia cannot possibly prepare for. Once more, Battledale requires the aid of adventurers.

Who: Any interested parties!

When: Wednesday May 15th, 7pm UTC / 3pm ET

Where: The Grave of Ilmeth Wyvernblade

Due to short notice, sign-ups are not required for this event, but if you know you'll attend and the character you'll bring, please post their name, class, & level below so I & your fellow players may plan accordingly.

Chronicles / A Red Menace in Battledale?
« Last post by Druie on May 10, 2019, 08:56:36 AM »
Adderposts, the merchant house left empty for the past few months after its owners disappeared amid rumours (never confirmed by authorities) of snake cults, now begins to see activity anew.

A group of foreigners staying in the town for some time appear to have concluded some protracted negotiations with War-Chancellor Jarath, and have begun refurbishing the building to their own ends.

Essembrans whisper about these foreign folk - bald-headed and tattooed, a small few of them garbed in scarlet and gold. What could this mean for the Dale? What kinds of deals has Lord Jarath struck in secret?

The brave ones who make enquiries discover that Adderposts is due to reopen in a mercantile capacity at some point this month.

Adventurers have been heard talking in Essembra about undeath in the Cormanthor - rumour has it that small pits of undead have been spawning more creatures, all by the doings of more powerful denizens of evil.

With little information about and few reports to corroborate a greater threat, adventurers warn each other to be on their guard when delving into places known to harbour undead.
