A Dracolich Defeated

Word spreads as bards begin to perform quickly-pulled-together verses set to familiar tunes, singing of the defeat of the dracolich Maugosthargar the Everburning who was attempting to possess the skeleton of the red dragon Thraxata. These bards sing of an army of brave adventurers - of many races, faiths, and cultures - who came together against the Cult of the Dragon to put a final-end to the undead dragon.

It is said that the heroes braved a mysterious nightmare realm within a painting by the infamous Romusvalian, full of strange, hostile colours. They crossed a bleak stretch of the Cold Field, where a ghostly coach tried to run them down again and again. And they delved into dark and twisting caverns full of wicked cultists in order to hunt down the red dragon skeleton and the spirit that sought to use it as a host.

Amidst the carnage they discovered the song dragon Morressyntreorix beset by foul magic and near death but rescued alive. Deeper still, they found a dark ritual where the goodly dragon's blood was being used for terrible purpose. In a great dark cavern, they slew a Talosian priest - a Wearer of Purple known as Stalvun Mournfall - who seemed hell-bent on bringing destruction against Essembra once his dracolich ally was at full strength - and blessedly they arrived in time to put an end to both this ploy and to the proto-dracolich itself.

A Trophy Returned

The adventurers, it is said, returned the stolen skull of Thraxata - but not the rest of her bones - to Lord Johann d'Edoras. The lord of Feather Falls was happy to have his trophy back but disappointed that only the skull may now adorn his keep. Still, he thanked the adventurers and rewarded them for their hard works.

The gates of d'Edoras keep have opened once more. With no marriage contract made, Lord Henselt Khodolis and his daughter Carensa are said to have left his hospitality very quickly to return to the Moonsea - though allegedly bound for Mulmaster and another potential husband rather than home to Thentia. A few gossips on d'Edoras castle staff reported a secret, tear-streaked goodbye shared between the young lady and Constal Hybrooke behind the courtyard statue.

In contrast, Sembian Lord Eddis Wynver and his daughter Tifaine appeared to have no immediate arrangements to depart, but were eventually seen accompanying matchmaker Tempestra Glimmerfeather heading south toward Ordulin.

Her skin is pale, her eyes are red,
Her leaden voice commands the dead,
To rise and stand beside their dreadful queen.
No mortal power escapes her thrall,
Her hunger will consume us all,
And even now I hear her call: Jolene
